「るろうに剣心」新京都編 | Rurouni Kenshin  Shin Kyoto Hen - December 20, 2011.
My blog has turned into a Rurouni Kenshin appreciation blog… but I really don’t mind at all. I am shamelessly in love with it anyway.
Continuing with my entries, I finally got to watch the Rurouni Kenshin Remake I’ve been dying to see since forever, and it really left me wanting for more; good thing there really is more to come soon!
Today was my ‘me’ time and I decided to walk around Umeda to see the movie as well as to finish my Christmas shopping - which I actually didn’t finish at all since I spent more than two hours trying to find the Sky Building without getting completely lost (—I have the worst sense of direction, thank you very much).
After finally reaching the Sky Building, bought my ticket and went around the place for a bit while waiting for the screen time of the movie. Anyhow, moving on with the movie…
I already saw screen shots beforehand, so already expected what kind of animation it has; the background scenery and actually everything except the characters/people were really detailed and drawn well. The characters have the usual Studio Deen style, solid colors and not so much detail, but it was already good enough for me. There were scenes were the characters were drawn really well too, like this one, and I can’t help but gush.
Fighting scenes were okay too, but I really have to say the scenes were rushed and some parts of the story were either left out or changed. I understand why they did this - I mean, things like this always happen in anime adaptations - but still. While watching a certain scene, I wasn’t able to stop myself from saying 「うわああー早すぎー!」 [Woah, too fast!]. I guess that’s what you could get in a 45-minute movie.
Still though, I am very very very happy with the movie. Like, super happy. Bought merchandise after the movie - they were expensive for such small items!
It’s also amazing how there were people of all ages in the theatre; I was seated next to a salary man in his 40s and on my other side was a fairly adult woman, maybe around her 30s. Next to them were high school and college students too. It’s amazing; childhood coming back to life.

Rurouni Kenshin Official Trailer

My heart. Oh my goodness.

Dream since childhood came to life — People don’t understand how much I need to see this.

The movie premieres today, and I’m watching it this week (and will probably gush about it until the second part of the movie comes, or until this movie premieres) too. My fangasm…it’s everywhere.

More photos of Takeru Sato and Takei Emi from the Rurouni Kenshin live action set!

ruroken_movie, the official Twitter account of the live action film, confirmed that the movie is scheduled to be released on August 25, 2012. They also invited everyone to check out Jump Square’s latest issue and RuroKen’s official website in order to get exclusive news about the movie.

All these Rurouni Kenshin specials… my fan girl heart can’t take it.

Too damn perfect.

Dying of happiness.

Shrek Ever after.

Watched Shrek Ever After today. It was damn hilariou. The Shrek series never failed to continuously amuse me and make me cry so hard just from laughing. Watching it on IMAX made it even cooler and funnier.

Shrek may be the only movie that completely mixed up characters from a variety of fairy tales/childhood rhymes and made it a success. It was originally from a fictional book (Shrek!) written by William Steig, and I am so glad it was made into a film.

Gave me laughs. A lot of laughs, actually. Seriously, I can’t help but laugh out loud at the thought that mighty-espanyol-puss-in-boots-turned-into-fat-fluffy-puss-with-no-boots is voiced by Antonio Banderas - the Zorro. Of course, Eddie Murphy made the movie even more hilarious with his songs as Donkey.

I’m a bit sad it’s the final sequel of Shrek. No more mix-up of fairy tales. *tears* I’m gonna miss it. ._.
